As a conceptual artist, I am interested in how visual artworks “frame” words and titles in the viewer’s mind.
I very much believe in the ideas of both synergy and symbiosis. I draw inspiration from artwork and music, and I believe that visual artists and musicians can draw inspiration from my lyrics and titles.
The world of art is an incestuous one. Art triggers more art, just as music triggers more music. Ideally, there will be some symbiotic effect which occurs between my ideas (original SONGBOOK, ALBUM and Song Titles) and yours (original artwork).
My hope is that when you, the Artist, read my various SONGBOOK, ALBUM and Song Titles, visual and graphic ideas will form in your mind. Hopefully you will read the Titles of each SONGBOOK and/or ALBUM and render a graphic masterpiece—a jacket design (front and back covers) which encapsulates or reflects the general “theme” of the Titles.
And while I would like to think my Titles will spark exciting new artistic creations, this is not mandatory. If you have a piece of Artwork already created that you think might fit a given Title, I encourage you to submit it.
I have only completed Song Lyrics to about 20% of my 5,400 Titles, so I am hoping that seeing my Titles “framed” by your Artwork will inspire me to finish many of these Lyrical Concept Albums before I leave the planet.

Although we are offering THOUSANDS IN CASH PRIZES, this Art Contest is not simply about winners and losers. It is designed to launch a publishing company which fosters the Power of Ideas through the creation of art.
If the maiden voyage of the “WORDS WITHOUT VOICES®” Online Album Art Competition is successful, then Atlantis Found Publishing will aspire to sponsor a new contest every year or every other year.
Future plans include a contest for the illustration of individual Song Lyric Sheets and a contest for best Title Song (yes, music) set to the ALBUM Titles in the WWV series.
If this new artform is as viable as I believe it to be, then AFPI will require new artwork on a regular basis. Down the road, AFPI hopes to launch full multimedia presentations combining artwork, lyrics and music. So even if your Artwork wins no prizes in our contests, bear in mind that it may well be utilized at a future date.
Currently, as Publisher of ATLANTIS FOUND, I envision creating, producing, releasing and selling a series of “Lyrical Concept Albums.” The LCAs would combine artwork from the Art Contest and my thematic Song Lyrics which accompany each Title.
I am still in the process of fine-tuning a compensation model for the Artists whom I choose to illustrate my work. At this point, I am contemplating paying the Artists I choose to collaborate with a percentage of each Lyrical Concept Album sold.
Bear in mind that this new artform—the Lyrical Concept Album—is very much an evolving Vehicle of Expression. I find its possibilities exciting and challenging, and I hope you will, too.

This being said, please be assured that the ultimate goal here is THE FURTHERANCE OF FREE EXPRESSION. One could safely say this is “Art for Art’s Sake,” but it is also a chance for greater exposure for you and I both.
I have dedicated virtually my entire life to chasing the muse, and as long as I am able, I will continue to try and push the creative envelope.
Art, like music, will never die, as long as artists and musicians like us keep it alive…
